During the Qin Dynasty, hanfu has an extra belt around the waist.—men typically used leather, while women favored silk. By the time of the Han Dynasty, the Chinese referred to themselves as Han ethnic group, and their attire as hanfu. Han style hanfu further emphasized it lithe and grace.
The iris-themed embroidery takes purple as the base, enhanced with blue-violet, green, white and gold for a bright, nuanced color palette. The multi-hued petals blend harmoniously in varied shapes, their delicate lines and shifting tones making them flutter like colorful butterflies. Blue-tinged green leaves add vibrancy, creating a dynamic, free-spirited scene.
Iris motifs on the back and wide sleeves echo each other, while contrast-stitched collars and cuffs feature embroidered edges. A purple outer zhiju robe and green inner zhiju complement the embroidery, tied together by a color-coordinated embroidered waistband that completes the cohesive look.
